Riot Games announced on the 18th that it will showcase artworks by six contemporary artists, inspired by ‘Arcane’, an animated series produced using the intellectual property (IP) of ‘League of Legends’ (LoL).

This collaboration was designed to allow audiences to experience the story and atmosphere of the animation through works that reinterpret its characters and world. The narrative of ‘Arcane’ has been reimagined through five key themes: growth, confrontation, conflict, anger, and connection. A total of 12 works will be presented by Gwon Osang, Ji Yongho, Choi Moonseok, Phil Moon, Yoonjin Jo, and Yoo Hyun.

According to Riot Games, Gwon Osang and Ji Yongho focus on the inner conflict and tensions between characters that ultimately lead to catastrophe. Gwon reconstructs photographs into three-dimensional sculptural forms to depict Jinx, while Ji Yongho uses discarded tires to create a lifelike representation of Vi.

Choi Moonseok interprets the story of two sisters and their intertwined growth through kinetic art, while Phil Moon explores the relationships and connections among various characters in Arcane, depicting the opposition between the two cities of Piltover and Zaun as well as conflicts between individuals.

In addition, Yoonjin Jo—known for using everyday materials such as tape—expresses the contrasting growth and conflict between the two sisters through opposing color schemes, while Yoo Hyun presents paper-cutting works based on an East Asian painting style, focusing on the accumulating anger as the sisters take different paths.

All works will be available to view on the LoL Korea YouTube channel, and starting on the 29th, they will also be presented in an offline exhibition. The exhibition will be held at the multi-cultural complex “Senne” in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, through November 7. Visitors can also experience interactive programs on-site, including the “Jinx Hideout,” where digital graffiti can be created, and the “Piltover Art Workshop,” which offers live printing experiences.
