Incheon Art Platform presents Denotation and Profundity its second curated exhibition of 2023, on view through August 15. The exhibition features a total of 16 artists and authors who were born between 1983 and 1997 and whose roots are in Incheon by birthright or upbringing

The exhibition features 48 works by eight promising young Incheon artists (Bokyung Kim, Jae-Seong Ryu, Minseok Son, Zoohyeong Song, Yaloo, Areumnari Ee, Hyunsun Jeon, and Jihyun Jung) and eight curators and researchers from Incheon-based organizations have written interviews and texts about each participating artist to further enrich the exhibition discourse.

The works of the unique young artists in the exhibition show the trends in contemporary art from different angles. Ranging from post-anthropocentrism, post-humanism, the relationship between humans and objects, non-temporality and non-spatiality, the coexistence of ambivalence, and exploration of light, to the use of research and archive as a methodology for artistic creation, the young artists exhibit diverse thematic concerns.

Through this exhibition, we hope to show a cross-section of the art scene composed by young artists in Incheon, giving visitors a chance to explore the dynamism and possibilities of Incheon’s art scene and encourage curators and researchers to take an interest in the various fields and scenes of Incheon’s art scene.
