Amado Art Space presents Ahn Kyuchul's solo exhibition "Ahn Kyuchul Multiplied", running until January 18 next year.

This exhibition addresses Ahn Kyuchul's identity as an artist, which cannot be defined by a single label, after over 40 years of diverse work across various media in the visual arts. The artist, known for transcending boundaries between installation, sculpture, text, and painting, has continuously questioned societal and artistic conventions.

The multifaceted identity of ‘Ahn Kyuchul, the artist’ is brought to life in the exhibition, where the 12 similarly unique spaces of Amado Art Space become temporary homes for his works, each presented in different forms and expressions.

In this exhibition, Ahn Kyuchul presents his first-ever animation work, 걷는 사람 (Walking Person) (2024). The animation, which contains seven episodes centered around the figure of a walking person, depicts the human spirit continuously moving forward despite external forces that hinder their progress.

Additionally, the artist showcases video works on the themes of failure and frustration, as well as experimental series of paintings like Dot Practices and Line Practices. He also showcases text-based works, drawing inspiration from literature and other sources.

The exhibition invites the audience into a series of endless recursive questions: "Who is Ahn Kyuchul, the artist?" and "What is the artist doing/what should the artist be doing?"
