The Korea Foundation (KF) - Gwangju Biennale Foundation Pavilion presents the exhibition “The Book of Distance” for the 15th Gwangju Biennale, at the Asia Culture Center until December 1. The Korea Foundation (KF) - Gwangju Biennale Foundation Pavilion is based on a business agreement between the two organizations and is the first collaborative project to co-host “The Book of Distance,” an exhibition that weaves a new cultural topography of East Asia.

“The Book of Distance” features a diverse spectrum of Korean artists exploring ASEAN, showcasing understanding and cultural crossroads that exist beyond borders through their works. Participating artists include Rho Jae Oon + Jang Harry, Jungki Beak, Dongjoo Seo, Sungjin Song, IkkibawiKrrr, Woosung Lee, and Sane Jung, who start from personal microscopic experiences and observations and express unique phenomena occurring in society through their artistic works.

With a contemporary approach that combines various media and techniques such as video, installation, photography, painting, and printmaking, they examine the socio-cultural issues faced by different societies at the same time.

Through collaboration with Indonesian artist Julien Abraham “Togar,” Asia Culture Center’s Creation Space 6 will host multiple layers of artistic activities, creating a space for raising various questions through displayed artworks. Public events and special spaces crafted by experts and creators from diverse fields aim to offer varied visitor experiences, activating an international network based on interdisciplinary art, and fostering future dialogues and creations.
