Until February 3, the Perigee Gallery will present “Sincerely,” an exhibition by Goseong, which was organized through the Perigee Team Project. Perigee Team Project is a program in which the Perigee Gallery selects one young artist and one curator each year to form a new team to collaborate and create meaningful exhibitions. In 2023, Goseong was selected as the artist and Hong Yeji was selected as the curator.

Exhibition is divided into three main areas. One is the artist’s workspace, another the curator’s study, and the other a communal space for interaction. These spaces represent “you, me, and us” in a different sense. These three areas are organically connected and eventually become a new one, a circular structure.

Each space is furnished with furniture and objects that reflect the individual thoughts and concerns. The artist and curator continue to interact here and organize short performances every week. The exhibition space also serves as a theater stage, connecting them with the audience. The true meaning of the exhibition is achieved through the participation of visitors.

For more than a year, Go and Hong exchanged letters and talked about life and art. Through their conversations, they discovered a common interest: the balance of what is most essential to human beings: the wisdom and simplicity of living life, the invisible and transcendent values, and the elements that keep us rooted to the ground. The exhibition is a visual representation of the process and close interaction to explore this. By lowering the threshold and making it more accessible than a typical exhibition, we hope to share their learning with people of all backgrounds.
