“Lean on each other” Installation view ©NOON CONTEMPORARY

NOON CONTEMPORARY presents a solo exhibition “Lean on each other” by Kim Chaelin, on view through August 24.

Kim has been working on sculptures that originate from the experience of touch and various installations that induce an expanded sensory experience. These works have focused on the connection between the body and the artwork and the sensation of touch that encompasses sight, sound, and touch.

In this exhibition, Kim presents works that address these relationships, as well as the relationship between the individual artwork and the artwork, the space in which the artwork is placed, and the experience of encountering the artwork and the conditions that shape it.

Kim Chaelin (b.1983) graduated from Hongik University College of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture, and completed her MFA and PhD programs at Dongguk University. She has held five solo exhibitions at GS Caltex Yeoulmaru (2022), OCI Museum of Art (2019), and Kim Chong Yung Museum (2018), and has participated in numerous group exhibitions at the Children’s Museum, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA); Buk-Seoul Museum of Art; Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art; ARKO Art Center; HOMA Hongik Museum art; Museum SODA; and Art Center White Block.
