Daegu Art Factory presents the technology convergence exhibition “Code Blue” until October 20. “Code Blue” sheds light on the tension between technology and emotion, humanity and artificial intelligence.
Led by Generation X artists Donghyun Kim, Jinah Roh, and Sangho Lee, who have both analog and digital experience, the exhibition showcases visualized works based on robotics and AI technologies incorporated into their works.
The exhibition is organized into three main themes. The first, ‘Conflict between Technology and Sensibility,’ visualizes the tension between technological advancement and sensibility through artworks. The second, “Boundaries of Humanity and AI,” explores the boundaries between humanity and technology as AI creates art or collaborates with humans. Finally, the third group, “Future Imagination,” presents works that explore the artistic prospects of AI and the imagination of future society.
Donghyun Kim explores how humans relate to the natural environment and momentary sensory experiences, visualizing the way physical energy of sound, color, and form abstractly communicate through the interaction of natural data and human senses.
Focusing on interactive sculptures and installations, Jinah Roh has been creating works that combine traditional sculpture and new media since 2002. She has been asking questions about the meaning of machines and life, and has recently been researching the emotionalization of machines with her work on emotional robots based on deep learning.
Sangho Lee, an entrepreneur pursuing the social contribution of technology through the development of electronic prosthetic limbs, is improving the quality of life of upper limb amputees through the production of electronic prosthetic limbs, and enables many people to experience the practical application of technology through participatory workshops.
