The Arts Council Korea (ARKO) is set to open applications for the 2024 Arts Fund beginning October 4. This marks the first year that the business structure has been changed, which has been streamlined based on direct feedback and subsequent restructuring efforts. Potential applicants are encouraged to carefully review both the project-specific announcements and the general application guidelines. A significant modification this year is the launch of the “Creative Entities” initiative, which transitions the emphasis from single-year projects to extended multi-year support. Additionally, there is a reinforced focus on ensuring accountability for supported projects. Improvements have also been made to the roles of both review board candidates and existing members in response to input from the field.
A briefing session will be held on October 25 to provide further information about the open call. During this session, Chairman Jeong Byeong-guk of the Arts Council Korea will announce the direction of the competition’s restructuring. The briefing will take place at the main theater of the ARKO Arts Theater and will be live-streamed on the Arts Council Korea’s YouTube channel. Moreover, dedicated consultation booths for each project category will be available.
