Artist Omyo Cho (b.1984) explores the fantasies brought about by new technologies and the underlying possibilities, questioning the attitudes we should adopt toward future life. In this exhibition, the artist presents a new form of sculpture that addresses how humans should adapt to environmental changes. The artwork unfolds a sculptural language, traversing the boundaries between nature and artificiality, incorporating elements like pine needles, water plants, and mushrooms, offering a glimpse into the approaching new world.
Omyo Cho is the recipient of the Soorim Art Prize 2020 from the Soorim Cultural Foundation. The solo exhibition at Soorim Cube is granted to the final award recipient.
