Kukje Gallery will present “Soft Skills and Underground Whispers,” a solo exhibition by Michael Joo, from August 30 to November 3 at K2. Ahead of Frieze Seoul 2024, which opens on September 4, Kukje Gallery will be showcasing Joo's work at its booth, and this solo exhibition will provide a deeper understanding of the artist's work.

Exploring perception, identity, and boundaries at the intersection of art and science, this exhibition draws attention to the exchanges, connections, and ineffable influences that underlie our everyday perceptions.

The exhibition's title, “Soft Skills and Underground Whispers,” poetically captures this, calling attention to the hidden networks of connections that operate just beneath the surface, and to the so-called “soft skills” that orchestrate many invisible relationships and intimacies.

The exhibition will feature a new series of acrylic panels, which stem from a longstanding exploration of materials and forms that both divide and connect spaces, as well as a range of works that use technology to make visible the connections between nature, humans, and place, and extend into the artist's personal realm to the relationships and memories that form his roots.
