The exhibition title 《Tillering》 is taken from an agricultural term referring to the phenomenon in which new stems form in branching plants such as rice and barley, meaning branching or sprouting.

As can be inferred from the title itself, the exhibition is a project that considers the increase or proliferation of things that share the same genetic traits as the main stem, presenting works with the identity of a “branch” that has “tillered” from an original work, and trading those “branches.”

Is it possible to create a part of a work without departing from the narrative and concept of the work? Like an alter ego. An alter ego may take the form of a miniature or may be a detached part. Video works change their materiality depending on what kind of device they are contained in, and in the process of sale, their installational intention is easily overlooked.

Without losing the intention of the work, the exhibition attempts to re-recognize, see anew, and look again at existing works, while conducting experiments on the general forms of artwork ownership or on the materiality that arouses the desire to own. Capturing the flow in which traditional concepts of collecting are diversifying, it reestablishes the meaning of ownership.
