We connect and disconnect easily in the virtual space. Our encounters via digital media do not allow us to physically touch each other, but they operate by repeatedly creating a sense of meeting the person behind the message through individual acts of seeing, hearing, or reading.

Through successful exchanges in the virtual space, we accumulate a subconscious sense of assurance and fulfillment that we can always reach the information and people we desire. I call this feeling, similar to fulfillment, "pseudo-fulfillment."

The awareness and adaptation to moments when communication without physical shared experiences crosses the threshold of belief is a constantly evolving sensory experience in 2024, one that we, living amid fragmented senses with digital media, must closely examine.

Since 2023, I have been creating small devices that transform Wi-Fi signals and other wireless communication frequencies into the realm of sensory perception. By installing these devices in various spaces, I have observed the reactions of the surrounding environment and my body. In the process of encountering disconnection and connection, invisibility and unpredictability, instability and uncontrollability of signals, I imagine the infinite signals passing through human bodies and other entities.

I choose to exist in the space between distant times and distant places where these signals travel. Starting from the imagination of WE as ever-moving vibrations MEETING in the unknown THERE, this exhibition shares videos and writings that explore the concept and practice of seeing without seeing, touching without touching, and hearing without hearing.
