The story of the 7th Ullim Exhibition is 《Point of Contact》. Circular points face different directions, yet they meet at one continuous point. Twenty artists continue their own individual exhibitions in their own ways, while also working together at a point where their inspirations encounter one another.

Based on the visual languages they have unfolded from their own perspectives, they wish not only to contemplate, but also to communicate with and be enjoyed by more viewers. When immersed in the joyful nature of creation, they casually cross the boundary of “disability art” as defined by contemporary society, and even embrace the very prejudices that ought to be embraced.

They wish to bring the aesthetics and philosophy unfolded in deeply personal spaces into the physical space of the gallery and communicate with viewers. They hope that here and now, the exhibition will become a space of contact that connects new opportunities and expanded relationships.

The major distinction of this exhibition lies in the impressive worldview created through three months of collaboration between artists Dongkyung Kwak, Lee Hojun, and Jeon Jooyeon from the 2021 Artist Dispatch Support Program – Artro, and artists affiliated with Special Art.

Artists Kim Jiho, Baek Jimin, Shim Gyuchul, and Lee Soyeon explore the principles of photography together with Dongkyung Kwak, and present surrealist paintings that realize images associated with the aesthetic pleasure of reality.

The interlocking sculptural work created by artist Lee Hojun and citizens under the theme of “coexistence” is located in a separate space inside the exhibition hall to welcome viewers, and visitors can also view the letter-exchange project that artist Jeon Jooyeon sent with affection to 15 artists affiliated with Special Art.
