Art center Nabi presents “Memory, Draw,” a special exhibition by one of the most influential theorists of digital culture and artists Lev Manovich (b. 1960), on view through February 16. Lev Manovich’s first solo exhibition in Korea examines the role of generative AI in the field of art and explores the infinite possibilities of human-technology co-creation.
The exhibition raises various questions about the development of generative AI and seeks to answer them through artworks created by Lev Manovich based on his research and utilizing AI. Each series focuses on a different aspect of generative AI and asks questions about the emerging medium.
The exhibition will feature not only works created using AI but also reinterpretations of works on paper from 1978 to 1985. In doing so, the exhibition aims to show the boundaries between works produced by highly advanced contemporary science and technology and works revealed through human creativity.
Through artworks utilizing artificial intelligence, visitors will be able to experience how human sensitivity and precise machinery can be combined, and how the interaction between the two can open up new horizons in the art and technology society.
Lev Manovich (b. 1960) is a leading theorist in the field of digital cultural theory and a pioneer in the application of data science to the analysis of visual culture.
