The Old House Regeneration Project is a residency program operated by CAN Foundation that supports artistic creation by providing artists with studio spaces in two old houses located in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul.

Now in its fifth year, the project has hosted ten artists to date. Works by the seventh group of resident artists, Hong Jungpyo and Lee Daecheol, will be presented at Old House in November and December, respectively.

Hong Jungpyo, whose exhibition opens first in November, explores how repetitive, seemingly meaningless actions in everyday life align with the aims pursued by art. This approach is expressed through works that strip familiar everyday objects of their functions, emphasizing only their formal beauty and meaning.

By transforming aging spaces through the artistic sensibilities of its resident artists, the Old House Regeneration Project offers an opportunity to reconsider the meaning of true value in a society that prioritizes material worth and relentlessly pursues development.
