Communication between subjects or objects takes place within the rules and structures of a system. When applied to reality, such a system appears solid and stable, even though cracks and gaps may in fact be scattered throughout it.

If we reconsider this through the lens of a communication system, these cracks may manifest as the absence or interruption of communication. What I seek to consider and express through art is not simply to expose these cracks and gaps, but to shake what lies within them and immerse myself in play.

I want to approach the digital medium, which has come to be celebrated as a means for the emergence of new forms of communication, from the perspective of play and amusement. My method is to take the electronic signal system as a point of departure, use ‘interactive’ as a keyword, employ ‘transitivity’ as a tool, and thereby induce participation.

Through newly formed fluid spaces and flexible scenarios within systems that produce interrelationships, I seek to infiltrate existing structures by gently seeping into them.

This does not literally mean that I seek the collapse of the system. Rather, I want to demonstrate the necessity of attempts at reflection and reconsideration. I simply approach the gaps and walk a precarious tightrope across the space of tension. In this approach, what matters for the subject is flexible thought and emotion.

If, beginning from new media, we re-form an ecology based on signals and signs, I believe the communication I seek will be expressed. With flexible thinking and an emotional approach as preparation, it is time to disarm the illusion of the protocol through the manifestation and visualization of the expanded body.
