The
cultural and artistic production platform Boan1942 and the creator platform
Local Stitch are co-hosting the exhibition 《ART REBUILD: Boan1942 × Local Stitch》,
bringing together creators from diverse fields.
Boan1942 — Art Rebuild BOAN
For
the first time this year, Boan1942 is launching an experimental project called
“Art Rebuild” in collaboration with artists, reflecting on the meaning and
value of contemporary art editions. This initiative seeks new discoveries
through the recontextualization of existing works.
The
participating artists— Mira Park, Taewon Ahn (PPURI), Soo Oh, Hannah Woo,
Yoonjung Lee, Nosik Lim, Junho Jang × Heeseung Chung, Daejin Choi, Beomsuk Choi,
Kiha Hong —present Art Rebuild works that deconstruct and reconstruct existing
forms. These projects aim to overcome the limited understanding of current art
editions as mere reproductions, exploring instead how works can expand within
new contexts of multiplicity and repetition.
Local Stitch — We Are All Creators
Local
Stitch, a platform that bridges work and life by offering a space for
experimentation and innovation, creates a new context within the exhibition
space at Art Space Boan 1 (formerly Boan Inn). By integrating a diverse range
of objects, goods, and furniture into a site-specific exhibition, Local Stitch
makes visible the creative attitude embedded in everyday life.
Additionally,
the exhibition features a space where messages of inspiration and support are
displayed. In a participatory content section, visitors are encouraged to
define what kind of creator they are and write it on a message card. This
interactive aspect embodies the declaration “We Are All Creators,” encouraging
each visitor to discover their creative potential in the process of shaping
their own lives.
The
exhibition invites visitors to slowly observe the experimental processes and
outcomes presented by the creators, encouraging them to develop their own
unique experiments in reimagining and reconstructing life.
