The Korean Cultural Center Korean Embassy in Japan, in collaboration with Marunuma Art Park, presents the exhibition “Marunuma Art Park Residency 5th Anniversary Korea-Japan Exchange Exhibition,” introducing Korean artists who have participated in the residency since 2017, as well as artists affiliated with Marunuma Art Park.

Marunuma Art Park is a residency facility established by its representative, Katsushige Susaki, to support young artists.

Since 1985, it has provided artists with a base for activities such as creation, accommodation, and exhibition space, and has produced artists active around the world, including Takashi Murakami and Izumi Hatano.

Currently, in collaboration with the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, it has operated a residency program since 2017 to provide promising Korean craft and sculptural artists with a foothold for working overseas, and 15 artists have participated so far.

This exhibition, organized to look back on Marunuma Art Park’s activities to date and support its future endeavors, presents works by a total of 20 artists: 15 Korean artists who participated in the residency over the past five years, 3 artists affiliated with Marunuma Art Park, and 2 OB artists.
