As part of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture's 2026 ongoing exhibition series 《Dancing Lounge》, the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture's Seoul Dance Creation Center presents Wonwoo Lee's solo exhibition 《HOW WE DANCE》 from April 28 to June 7, 2026.

Extending the artist's long-standing practice of creating situations in which audiences can actively participate and engage through lived experience, the exhibition centers on his enduring interests in anxiety and in the rhythms and balances of life. In particular, it takes its point of departure from the second chapter of Four Ways to Escape Anxiety, titled Dance, inviting viewers to think sensorially through bodily movement.

The exhibition features Self-portrait (Grand Ballroom), Dancing Star, Dancing in the Frame, and Dance Partners. Each work operates on multiple levels of meaning, ranging from the artist's comparison of the sculptural process itself to dance, to dance as an act of escaping anxiety, and to movements that share rhythm with others.

In particular, the participatory work Dance Partners is completed only through the viewer's movement, encouraging visitors to experience dancing together with a sculpture. Going beyond purely visual appreciation, the work proposes bodily sensation as a means of discovering balance and joy in life, functioning as a metaphor for the rhythms of living.

As its title suggests, 《HOW WE DANCE》 unfolds as a shared field in which the artist, the sculptures, and the audience exchange rhythms with one another. The exhibition asks how we move and how we find balance in our lives, while inviting each visitor to experience possible answers through their own body.
