From September 24 to October 19, 2025, 《Under the Skin: Heat and Membrane》, an exchange exhibition featuring young international artists, will be held at Ilsansuji, located within the Hakjang Industrial Complex in Sasang-gu, Busan, as part of the 2025 Busan International Photo Festival.

This exhibition is conceived as a platform for exploring, through the medium of photography, the point where sensory inspiration arising from urban change intersects with individual inner sensitivity. Sixteen young artists active in Busan as well as various cities across Europe and Asia participate, carefully capturing the tension and resonance of contemporary urban life based on the landscapes and emotions of the cities in which they live.

《Under the Skin: Heat and Membrane》 goes beyond simple visual documentation and asks how photography functions as an “art of contact.” The heat, sensations, and structural boundaries of the city that permeate the images expand into social layers through each artist’s individual perception and mutual exchange, delicately revealing the inner desires and disconnections experienced by cities and individuals today.

This exchange exhibition will be a meaningful occasion to breathe together with the emotions and structures generated at the point where art and the city, the individual and society meet, as well as with the sense of the times that lives and moves under the concept of the “membrane,” seen through the perspectives of young artists across generations and national borders.
