Sungsic Moon, who first drew attention as the youngest artist to participate in the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, presents in this exhibition a selection of works ranging from his debut pieces ‘Drawing of Memory’ to landscape paintings that unfold with the expansive perspective of aerial views.

《Windless Landscape》, an exhibition by Sungsic Moon, a recipient of KiMi’s inaugural open-call exhibition program, brings together works spanning from his earliest productions to his most recent paintings. Having emerged onto the international stage as the youngest artist in the Korean Pavilion of the Venice Biennale, Moon's solo exhibition centers on the reconstruction of urban landscapes within pictorial space.

Constructed as though assembling sculptural forms, Moon’s paintings reveal a method of building images layer by layer. Rather than adopting the deep and nuanced colors of reality, he employs heightened chromatic tones that lend his scenes an artificial quality.

Yet this seemingly stylized visual language serves as a means of closely observing the events and conditions that shape contemporary reality, directing a serious and sustained gaze toward the world it reflects.
