The Daegu Foundation for Culture (CEO Youngseok Park) announced that it will hold the exhibition 《Daegu New Bauhaus》 from October 10 to December 9 at Daegu Art Factory in Jung-gu. This exhibition features works by 14 Korean artists, reflecting the Bauhaus movement’s principle of the “integration of life and art” within a contemporary context.

This exhibition revisits the historical and art-historical significance of Bauhaus and presents works by Korean artists who reinterpret its meaning. The works reinterpret Bauhaus ideology through themes such as “integration of life and art,” “post-human,” and “post-technology.”

Approximately 150 works across various genres—including audiovisual, installation, sculpture, and two-dimensional works—will be exhibited. Bauhaus was a school established and operated in Germany from 1919 to 1933. It provided comprehensive education related to art, craft, photography, and architecture, and its ideology continues to influence the present day. The simple and refined compositions and designs—such as box-like buildings, evenly spaced columns, rectangular windows, and gray concrete—represent the full extent of Bauhaus’s influence.

Admission is free, and the exhibition is closed every Monday. Visiting hours are from 10 AM to 7 PM until October, and from 10 AM to 6 PM during November and December. Alongside the exhibition 《Daegu New Bauhaus》, an academic event titled “21st Century Technology and Humanity” will also be held, and further details can be found on the Daegu Art Factory website (www.daeguartfactory.kr).
