Yangju City Chang Ucchin Museum of Art will present the 4th 《New Drawing Project》 exhibition from February 26 to April 14.

Now in its fourth edition, 《New Drawing Project》 is a differentiated open-call exhibition targeting university (graduate) students and emerging artists. It is a core initiative of  Yangju City Chang Ucchin Museum of Art, aimed at discovering and supporting the next generation of artists, while also advancing the museum’s identity as a leading institution for the collection of drawing.

In particular, this year’s open call selected a final group of 80 artists through a first-round screening process from applicants nationwide, comprising art students and emerging artists. Their works will be presented in the 4th 《New Drawing Project》 exhibition. A second-round evaluation will follow, culminating in the “Grand Prize for Drawing” award ceremony. One grand prize winner will receive 5,000,000 KRW, while ten excellence award recipients will each receive 1,000,000 KRW.

The exhibition features a total of 155 works by the 80 selected artists, including 140 two-dimensional works, 10 sculptures, and 5 new media pieces. Through this exhibition, the free and pure drawing practice of Jang Ucchin is reinterpreted in a contemporary context, offering a glimpse into new possibilities of “drawing” through the fresh and passionate works of emerging artists. The opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, February 26 at 4 PM.
