《The Preview》 prepares for its fifth edition.

The term “preview,” meaning a “first look,” refers to a platform of exchange that introduces new galleries, artists, and works at the earliest stage. The fair was first launched in 2021 as a response to the paradigm shift occurring in the art market amid generational changes, where the three central axes of the art ecosystem—creators (artists), consumers (collectors), and distribution platforms (galleries)—intersect and reshape the landscape.

In 2025, marking its fifth edition, The Preview presents a new art fair under the keywords “change” and “newness,” preparing a space where diversity can shine alongside galleries newly joining the fair in a new venue.

By bringing together emerging independent exhibition spaces in one place, the fair creates points of contact with the established art market while fostering the expansion of the art ecosystem. The energy generated by The Preview, shaped by a wide spectrum of artistic practices, offers visitors a new experience rarely encountered elsewhere.

The organizers of The Preview expressed their anticipation that the venue—once a transportation unit of the former Defense Security Command and transformed in 2011 into an open cultural space for citizens by the National Theater Company of Korea—will be presented with new meaning through the identity of The Preview, as a place enriched by traces of time.

They further noted that at the end of spring 2025, in late May, the fair will feature trend-leading works by more than 200 artists represented by 38 galleries, as well as the expansion of art into diverse fields. Through 《The Preview Seongsu 2025》, which seeks to establish a new identity, visitors are invited to become first-time collectors and seize the opportunity to own a beautiful artwork of their own.
