Youngeun Art Museum will present Scope and Scape from
July 12 to September 14, 2025, as part of its 2025 Regional Exhibition
Activation Program.
Originally curated at Mimesis Art Museum in 2023, Scope and
Scape is an exhibition that explores how photography and painting
interpret and represent the world in different ways through the fundamental
artistic act of “observation.” Featuring 25 works by eight artists, the
exhibition offers a wide spectrum of visual interpretations.
Scope and Scape goes beyond a simple juxtaposition of
photography and painting. It is a journey that demonstrates how the essential
artistic act of observation opens up infinite possibilities of interpretation
across different media. The 25 works presented by eight artists invite each
viewer to begin their own act of observation. Standing before the artworks, we
all become observers ourselves, encountering new landscapes beyond the worlds
discovered by the artists.
