From January 16 to March 2, 2025, EM Gallery presents 《Paths Opening from Dead Ends》, a group exhibition featuring seven artists. The show offers new possibilities to contemporary individuals who have encountered personal or social barriers and asks how art can open paths where none seem to exist.

Everyone at some point in life faces a dead end. Such moments of blockage may stem from personal conflicts or from the constraints of social structures. They can cause hesitation and sap the vitality that drives life forward.

Yet not every dead end signals a final stop. Rather, it can serve as a turning point toward a new beginning. 《Paths Opening from Dead Ends》 focuses on that possibility. Each participating artist reflects in their work on walls they have faced and the efforts made to move beyond them.

Art becomes a vessel that contains human anguish and yearning at the edge of impasse. Even under constraints, artists seek creative solutions and explore new modes of expression, expanding the potential of art. Like the Japanese art of kintsugi, which coats cracked vessels with gold to create renewed beauty, these artists transform their own wounds and deficiencies into art.
