Perigee
Gallery, which opens this year, presents its inaugural exhibition with a solo
show by artist Kira Kim titled 《The Last Leaves》.
Kira
Kim has long engaged with social issues such as ideology, class, region, and
the environment, expressing them through painting, installation, and video
works that confront audiences with the uncomfortable truths of the society we
live in.
In
this exhibition, Kira Kim aims to offer insight into the present reality of
South Korea, the world’s only divided nation, by focusing on the pain and
ideological conflict it endures. Through this, the audience is invited to
reflect on the various tensions within our society and consider what, in the
end, must be protected above all else.
