Ayoung Kim will participate in 《MACHINE LOVE: Video Game, AI and Contemporary Art》 at Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, an exhibition
introducing contemporary art that employs game engines, generative AI, and
virtual reality (VR). Kim presents Delivery
Dancer’s Sphere(2022), Evening Peak Time Is Back(2022),
and Ghost Dancer B(2022), originally presented in her
solo exhibition 《Syntax and Sorcery》 at Gallery Hyundai in 2022
alongside Delivery Dancer Simulation(2022). This
exhibition explores diverse artistic methodologies that reimagine aesthetics
and image-making within digital spaces, where reality and the virtual space
overlap. It functions as a platform to contemplate the relationship between
humankind and technology to envision better ways to live out an uncertain
future. The exhibition runs through June 8.
Additionally, Ayoung Kim has been
invited to present her first museum solo show in Germany 《Many Worlds Over》 at Hamburger
Bahnhof—Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart. Kim will present a survey of
works that span her artistic practice and recent works such as Delivery
Dancer’s Arc: 0° Receiver. The exhibition will be on view from
February 28 to July 20, 2025.
