Seeun Kim's solo exhibition 《Noun to Verb》 is on view at ppuri of the cultural and arts platform KCS (Kumsung Cultural Space) founded by Kumsung Publishing, until January 18, 2025.

In 2001: A Space Odyssey, astronaut Bowman encounters the mysterious monolith, passing through a luminous, endless passage. This iconic "Star Gate" sequence immerses viewers in a surreal journey beyond time and space. Director Stanley Kubrick masterfully employs a one-point perspective to create infinite depth and draw the audience into an atmosphere of quiet tension. The scene transcends its role as a mere backdrop, shifting perception and inviting a new spatial experience.

Seeun Kim, a Seoul-based artist who grew up in Bundang, captures the ever-changing pulse of the city. She weaves together layers of memories and experiences, presenting urban spaces as dynamic and fluid. Her works illustrate how spaces transform, gaining new meanings as they are constantly recontextualized. Feet of Integrity series, composed of over 300 drawings of her daily walks, reveals how time and routine inscribe themselves into the surroundings. The city becomes a living, evolving entity where past, present, and future intersect.

In Kim’s urban landscapes, we see more than architecture. Spaces, much like old memories, are recycled and reborn in new contexts. Her large-scale paintings deconstruct and reassemble the texture of the city, creating new spatial narratives. The works challenge viewers to reflect on their experiences, memories, and relationships within these environments.

Set in Yongsan's redevelopment area, this show invites exploration of the relationship between urban spaces and shifting identities. The remodeled buildings, once abandoned, stand as a testament to the city’s constant transformation. Through Seeun Kim's lens, the evolving nature of our relationship with changing spaces comes to light. How does this space hold you in time?
