Bosul Kim is a media artist who explores the organic interconnectedness of humans and nature, life and environment, based on Eastern philosophy.

Moving across the boundaries between reality and virtuality, media and performance, she visually reveals that humans, nature, and nonhuman beings exist within a single cyclical flow rather than as separate entities. She has focused on reinterpreting archetypal Eastern thought and holistic worldviews in a contemporary context, combining them with advanced technologies to construct new sensory experiences of space and time.

Her practice begins with Eastern philosophy, mythology, and folklore, and extends toward reflections on contemporary environmental crises such as climate change and rising sea levels, raising questions about future ecosystems and modes of existence.

Centering on the idea that all beings, from the most microscopic forms of life to the cosmic scale, are connected through cycles, she explores possibilities for coexistence with nonhuman beings beyond an anthropocentric worldview. In this process, scientific data and Eastern thought are organically integrated to form a unified worldview.

Kim combines a wide range of technology-based media, including animation, AI, XR, motion capture, telematic performance, and the metaverse, to create immersive and multilayered sensory experiences.

Her work explores new forms of existence at the intersection of the physical body and digital beings, moving beyond visual effects to propose expanded modes of sensation and perception through which future life and environments can be reconsidered.
