The Daejeon Foundation for Arts and Culture (CEO Park Chan-in) announced on the 15th the final selection of artists who will join Artist Residency TEMI next year as its third cohort.

The selected residents comprise nine artists and teams in total: Korean artists Kang Jung Hun, Kim Jee Soo, Bokyung Jun, Choi Eun Kyung, and Hong Won Seok; and international artists So Young Park (Canada), Nana & Felix (Finland/Korea), Pascale Barret (France), and Ahmed El Shaer (Egypt).

A total of 71 artists and teams applied for the open call for the third cohort, which began on the 23rd of last month, including 60 Korean applicants and 11 international applicants working in the field of visual arts.

The selection process was conducted in two rounds on the 5th and 10th. The jury, chaired by Lee Junhee, editor-in-chief of Monthly Art, included Kim Voc Sou, curator at Cheongju Art Studio; Seo Jin Ok, curator at Creative Culture Space Yeoinsuk; painter Yoo Keun Young; art critic Youn Bum-mo; Choi Tae-man, professor at Kookmin University; and art critic Ha Kye-hoon. The final residents were selected through reviews of applications and portfolios, presentations, and interviews.

Following an orientation on the 18th, the selected artists will move into the residency beginning January 15 of next year. Korean artists will participate for one year, while international artists will each undertake a three-month residency.
