Bona Park, Junebum Park, Son Donghyun, and Jaye Rhee were selected as award recipients of the 15th SONGEUN Art Award.

The SONGEUN Art Award was launched in 2001 with the aim of discovering emerging talent in the art world. A total of 423 artists applied for this edition. Following an online portfolio review, 29 artists advanced to the main round of judging, each submitting one new work.

The four artists who passed the main round participated in the 《15th SONGEUN Art Award Exhibition》, which served as the final stage of judging for the Grand Prize. As a result, Son Donghyun, working in Korean painting, received the Grand Prize, while Bona Park, working in video and installation, Junebum Park, working in video and installation, and Jaye Rhee, working in video, each received an Excellence Award.

The Grand Prize winner receives KRW 20 million and the opportunity to hold a solo exhibition at SONGEUN ArtSpace. Each of the three Excellence Award recipients receives KRW 10 million. All award recipients are also granted eligibility for support for the 2016–2017 SONGEUN ArtSpace–Delfina Foundation Residency.

The 《15th SONGEUN Art Award Exhibition》, presenting works by the four artists, will be on view at SONGEUN ArtSpace through the 30th. The following month, a solo exhibition by Hyesoo Park, recipient of the 13th SONGEUN Art Award, is scheduled to open.

Meanwhile, applications for the 16th SONGEUN Art Award will be accepted from the 11th through the 15th. Application guidelines are available on the SONGEUN ArtSpace website.
