The Buning Brongers Prize is a biennial Dutch art award presented to emerging visual artists. The winners of the 2014 Buning Brongers Prizes are:

• Jisan Ahn (Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Amsterdam)
• Cian-Yu Bai (De Ateliers, Amsterdam)
• Saskia Blokzijl (ArtEZ Arnhem)
• Jeannoux van Deijck (Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Amsterdam)
• Frederique Jonker (HKU University of the Arts Utrecht)
• Janine van Oene (HKU University of the Arts Utrecht)
• Sam Samiee (AKI ArtEZ Enschede / Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Amsterdam)

Each recipient receives a cash award of €4,500.

An exhibition featuring works by the prize winners will be held at Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam from 10 to 26 October 2014. A catalogue presenting the winners’ works will also be published in conjunction with the exhibition. The awards will be presented during the exhibition opening on 10 October 2014 at 5:00 p.m.

The prizes are awarded by the Buning Brongers Foundation, established through the legacy of Johan Buning, his wife Titia Brongers, and his sister-in-law Jeanette Brongers. It is the largest privately funded art prize in the Netherlands and has been awarded to 131 artists since 1966. Candidates are nominated by art academies and institutions throughout the Netherlands.
