Artist Ko Woori(b. 1989) has continued a practice that creates “cracks” in the ambivalent emotions she experiences in human relationships, records the traces of bodily performance through which she searches for points of contact between herself and those emotions, and attempts to share emotions with viewers.

In this exhibition, Ko Woori’s work constructs multiple layers on the surface through acts such as painting, crumpling, and wetting the canvas. These remain as traces of “struggle” that occurred in the process of searching for “sincerity(眞心)” in order to understand others and integrate into society.

The work projects inner emotions that the individual does not recognize, along with the ambiguous things surrounding them, onto abstract images, and reveals thoughts that seek to approach sincerity and essence.
