Factory of Contemporary Arts in Palbok will hold 《Vanishing Moments, Remaining Forms》, the final exhibition of the 8th cohort of resident artists at the Factory of Contemporary Arts in Palbok Creative Studio, from the 20th to February 22 in the second-floor exhibition hall of Building A, Ipopnamu Hall, outdoor spaces, and other areas.

The “Final Exhibition of Creative Studio Resident Artists” is an occasion for resident artists to share with citizens the creative processes and outcomes they have developed at Factory of Contemporary Arts in Palbok over a certain period, and this year marks its 8th edition.

This exhibition has been organized to deepen understanding of contemporary art through the works of artists who deal with diverse media such as painting, installation, and video, and to publicly present the role and function of the Factory of Contemporary Arts in Palbok Creative Studio.

The exhibition title, 《Vanishing Moments, Remaining Forms》, begins from different perspectives on disappearance. The artists unfold, in their own languages, the process through which past time, memory, and sensation are newly formed as they mingle with the present, and they have captured in their works the traces and points of thought that remain even after disappearance.

A total of seven artists participate in the exhibition: Kim Won, Park Kyeongjin, Park Sungeun, Yang Eunkyung, Yong Hahyun, Jang Sijae, and Jeon Jihong. Based on the work they accumulated over the past year of residency, the participating artists present around 105 works that contain moments of disappearance and the sensations left behind from them.

The opening ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on the 20th in the first-floor lobby of Building A at Factory of Contemporary Arts in Palbok.

Choi Rakgi, CEO of the Jeonju Cultural Foundation, said, “This exhibition is an occasion for the resident artists to share with citizens the time they spent over the past year at Factory of Contemporary Arts in Palbok and the results of their creation,” adding, “I hope that the artists will continue their creative activities in their respective places, and that their experiences at Factory of Contemporary Arts in Palbok will remain as meaningful memories.”
