《GOODS》 is an event in which visual artists reflecting on the environment and conditions of contemporary art directly sell their works or “goods,” limited-edition items, and derivatives of their practice. It offers an opportunity to closely observe and purchase works that were previously only available in exhibition spaces, as well as site-specific installations, performances without fixed forms, and the activities of emerging artists not typically addressed by conventional art fairs.

《GOODS》 began with the expectation that the potential inherent in the word “goods” could offer alternative ways to address various issues faced by contemporary art. In this sense, the event provides a platform where participating artists interpret and propose new ways of producing and distributing their works through their own distinctive formats, actively presenting the results of their engagement with their works as “goods.”

Each individual work or “goods” has been created through different approaches and methods. The organizers express the hope that visitors will enjoy comparing the subtle differences between industrial products, art merchandise, artworks, and the “goods” proposed by artists, and that this experience will encourage more active participation in the artistic practices of surrounding artists.
