Artist Note

1. On a wooden relief by the guitar craftsman Frank Henry Martin, the Latin phrase “NON MULTA SED MULTUM (not many but much)” was carved. I thought the phrase was beautiful, but also that the wooden relief containing that phrase was as beautiful as the phrase itself.
The manner in which sentiment is distributed across the container or frame that carries something.

2. The adjectives attached to memory devices depending on their characteristics:
Floppy (fluttering) diskette, Compact (densely compressed / small-sized) disc, Hard (solid) disk, Solid-state drive, etc.

3. At times, the data stored in memory devices feels heavier than the physical burdens I carry.

While navigating through the data inside the device across many days, I saw—like broken fragments—people playing, remembering, getting angry, believing, grieving, and creating something.

And the faces that can no longer be seen.

I compose a space using a few two-dimensional objects, contemplating the processes and methods by which memories and impressions gather, are recorded, accumulated, listed, condensed, or discarded.

However, I willingly appropriate private obsessions to increase their resolution. Certain sentences must be written with difficulty and over time.

4. Let the things that are well-classified flow according to their own logic.
