《RHYTHMOSCAPE》 expresses sensations that Greem Kim’s body directly experienced during her travels across South America. Crossing regions where altitude and air density changed dramatically, she realized how differently the body reacts and perceives depending on environmental conditions. In such situations, the landscape permeates a tense or relaxed body, imprinting itself as sensation.

Depicting the moment in which landscape and body—what is seen and what is felt—become indistinguishable allows her to visualize what is otherwise invisible. Exploring the materials and qualities inherently embedded in nature under extreme environmental shifts becomes an opportunity to expand perception and thought.

The substances and textures she encounters in these conditions become materials that resonate with bodily sensation, remaining in memory as synesthetic impressions. In short, the body’s biological rhythm shifts depending on place and time, and these experiences re-emerge as new landscapes. Within these landscapes—unfolding according to the body’s breath—the living and the nonliving shed their differences and move toward coexistence.
