Jungyoon Hyen’s solo exhibition 《You Again》 will be held from July 27 to August 24 as the inaugural show at OS, a new exhibition space located in Huam-dong.

Working between London and Seoul, Jungyoon Hyen has been reconstructing spaces by installing sculptural elements derived from altered everyday objects. 《You Again》 marks the artist’s first solo exhibition in Korea and presents both existing works that are being shown domestically for the first time, as well as new installation pieces created for this occasion.

The exhibition title “You Again” echoes a weary sigh one might let out upon repeatedly encountering the same figure—something like, “After running this far, I look up and it's you again.” The show brings together sculptures that resemble both the emotional states of the subject when confronted by such a presence, and forms that metaphorically embody the “You.” Some sculptures seem to be engaged in action, yet remain lethargic; others reflect an anticipatory stance toward a moment yet to arrive, or a repeated expectation. Coexisting within the works is a kind of irony—toward the repetitive futures (the “You”) that return with the same structures of difference and exclusion, like a refrain that never changes.
