The exhibition titled 《Transit life》 continues the artist’s “Life” series following the solo show 《Dream...In Life》 curated by Insa Art Space. In the 《Dream...In Life》 exhibition, the artist explored how dreams, aspirations, and fantasies influence the lives of individuals or groups through six video works. These videos documented the filmmaking process of independent film crews, a girl studying pansori, carriage drivers operating in New York and Chicago, and groups of people heading off on weekend trips. While these dreams act as a driving force in one’s life, the works also revealed how, in situations where personal desires remain unfulfilled due to a deprived reality, such illusions become a form of escapism—an imaginary world created out of necessity for survival.

In contrast, the works presented in 《Transit life》 deal not with individual perspectives but with the state of constant movement between the ideal society collectively imagined by a community or society, and the reality that confronts it.

In the video works on view, the artist adopts the perspective of an outsider or traveler. This unfamiliar gaze toward the subject at times reveals a refreshed perspective and reaction—something only an outsider might possess—toward a reality that may otherwise feel overly familiar.
