The list of Korean artists selected to participate in the world-renowned international art exhibition, the Venice Biennale, has been announced. The Korean Pavilion at the 51st Venice Biennale, which will take place from June 12 to November 6, will feature the works of 14 artists: Bae Young-whan, Choi Jeong-hwa, Sora Kim, Hong Seok Kim, Yeondoo Jung, Kim Beom, Joo Yoen Lee, Oh Heung-geun, Sung Nak-hee, Kiwan Park, Sejin Park, Moon Sung-sic, Sung Nak-young, and Ham Jin. Works by the late artist Park I-so, who passed away last year, will also be included in the exhibition.

Compared to previous editions of the Korean Pavilion, which typically featured only two or three artists, this year marks the largest number of participants. It is also notable that many of the selected artists are in their twenties, highlighting a shift toward a younger generation. The artists were selected by Kim Sun-jung, who serves as the commissioner of the Korean Pavilion. Kim, the daughter of former Daewoo Group Chairman Kim Woo-jung, has been actively engaged in the international art scene through her leadership at Art Sonje Center and through co-curating various exhibitions abroad that introduce cutting-edge global contemporary art.
