The Hermès Foundation Art award jury announced on the 2nd that media artist Yangachi (real name Cho Sung-jin, 40) has been selected as the recipient of the 2010 Hermès Foundation Missulsang.

The winning work is a video piece titled Bright Dove Hyunsook, which depicts events that occur as Ms. Hyunsook, possessed by a dove, moves between her home in Buam-dong and the Hermès building near Dosan Park. The work is constructed as if filmed through the perspectives of surveillance cameras and the dove itself.

The prize includes an award of 20 million Korean won, and the winning work will be exhibited along with works by the other finalists, Jinah Park and Jongheon Bae, at Atelier Hermès in Sinsa-dong, Seoul, until the 19th.

Established in 2000, the Hermès Foundation Art Award has previously been awarded to artists including Chang Young Hye and Beom Kim, Iso Park, Do Ho Suh, Chankyoung Park, Koo Jeong A, Minouk Lim, Sung-hwan Kim, Sanghee Song, and Yoonyoung Park.
