The solo exhibition of the rising star artist Mire Lee (b. 1988) is being held at the New Museum in New York City. Her exhibition titled Mire Lee: Black Sun will run until September 17. This marks the artist’s first solo exhibition held in the United States.

Lee’s solo exhibition has been covered by numerous prestigious international media outlets, such as The New York Times, Artnet News, and Artforum. Reviews from major media outlets have enhanced the artist’s visibility and lend credibility to the uniqueness, creativity, and contribution of her works within the art world. Such dynamics play a significant role in an artist’s career, especially for emerging artists aiming to establish themselves in the art scene.

Mire Lee gained substantial attention by participating in the main exhibition of the Venice Biennale in 2022 and the Busan Biennale 2022. She explores desire, death, fear, and more through eerie and peculiar kinetic installations that evoke the organs of animals.
