On November 21, the Han Nefkens Foundation awarded Eunhee Lee, a Korean experimental video artist and documentary filmmaker, with the Loop Barcelona Video Art Production Grant of USD 15,000, and Alaa Mansour, a Lebanese artist, filmmaker, and archivist, received the Fundació Antoni Tàpies Video Art Production Grant, also valued at USD 15,000.
Both artists have a nine-month timeline to complete their new video projects, which collaborating institutions, including the Barcelona-based foundations Fundació Joan Miró and Fundació Antoni Tàpies, will showcase.
Lee’s artwork will be on long-term loan to the Hans Nefkens Foundation, subsequently exhibited at MoCA Taipei, ILHAM in Kuala Lumpur, Art Hub Copenhagen, and Beijing’s Inside Out Art Museum. On the other hand, Mansour’s video will be presented at the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art in Singapore, the WIELS Contemporary Art Centre in Brussels, the MCAD in Manila, and the Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai.
