ARKO Art
Center presents its 2024 ARKO Selection exhibition “ZIP” on view through
September 8. The exhibition, which will be held at the entire ARKO Art Center,
is organized by Choi TaeHoon, who was selected for the Visual Arts Workshop
Support Program, and will feature 16 female sculptors.
The
Visual Arts Workshop Program is one of the Arts Council Korea's cultural
promotion fund programs that supports various projects that contribute to the
development of the visual arts field. “ZIP” is an exhibition that provides a
new understanding of today's sculpture based on the basic elements of
sculpture-materials, properties, and form-and presents a wide range of works by
16 contemporary female sculptors from various generations, from Kim Yun Shin,
born in the 1930s, to Park So Yeon, born in the 1990s. The title of the
exhibition is a metaphor for gathering together sculptural experiments like a
zip file and connecting them like a zipper.
The 16
artists in the exhibition are Kim Yun Shin, Park Yoonja, Hahn Ai-Kyu, Rho
Si-Eun, Joohyun Kim, Meekyoung Shin, Jinah Roh, Soyoung Chung, Munkyung Chung,
Omyo Cho, Hyejin Jo, Taeyeon Kim, Leap Lee, Hyeyeon Seo, Khia Hong, Park So
Yeon.
