nook gallery, which opened in 2013 and has presented 75 diverse exhibitions, has now reached its 10th anniversary. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the artists who have participated in our exhibitions over the years, as well as to the many art professionals and visitors who have viewed and supported each exhibition.

Held in celebration of the gallery’s 10th anniversary, 《Salon de nook gallery》 brings together 39 artists who have worked with nook gallery since its relocation to Pyeongchang-dong in 2018. Without restrictions of theme or genre, two-dimensional and three-dimensional works will be installed together, allowing viewers to discover the distinctive characteristics of each work through their harmony and contrast.

This exhibition will serve not only as an opportunity to reflect on and revisit the direction and identity of nook gallery’s exhibitions over the years, but also as a meaningful occasion for everyone to come together with a shared spirit.

Through two-person exhibitions that bring together works of differing character yet capable of forming points of resonance, nook gallery has consistently organized experimental exhibitions in which contrasting images can coexist and mutually enrich one another. Once or twice a year, the gallery also presents solo exhibitions for accomplished mid-career artists who have continued their practices steadily but have had relatively few opportunities to exhibit.

Since 2017, nook gallery has organized exhibitions bringing teachers and their students together, and plans to continue presenting such exhibitions annually as the first exhibition of each new year. As a space where artists, artworks, and audiences encounter and communicate with one another through in-depth exhibitions, nook gallery will continue to engage with the evolving currents of contemporary art.

Looking back on the exhibitions of the past ten years, we renew our commitment to presenting exhibitions of greater depth and breadth. We sincerely ask for your continued interest and support for nook gallery’s exhibitions.
