For the artist, a portal symbolizes the potential to encounter and explore alternative worlds through art, much like how a scene from everyday life can spark the imagination of other dimensions. However, a portal is not separate from the contemplation of reality. The alternative world envisioned by the artist is not a utopia existing beyond reality, but rather a focal point within reality.

On the other hand, a portal also reflects the artist’s contemplation of their role as a sculptor. They serve as a means for the artist to revisit and reinterpret their past works, ranging from object installations to plaster casting and pigment research, while simultaneously seeking new forms.

The artist’s initial thematic consciousness, which was expressed through the transformation of everyday life experiences into object installations, has now evolved and been absorbed into the sculptural form. 《Portal》 presents the artist’s journey and the transformative sculptural changes they have encountered along the way.
