Installation view of 《A Vanishing Sense of Physical : Habitat Data》 © Sookyun Yang

This project, which contains records of land on the border between water and fire, visually expresses everyone’s experience of habitat nature, not a space that is demarcated and treated by humans.

Sookyun Yang stays briefly in Seogwipo, Jeju Island, and converts materials found in Seongsan’s artificial cave, tangerine fields in Wimiri, and Daepo coastal areas into data and releases them in this deserted Daepo guard post.

In order to talk about physical senses lost from our bodies in an era of externalized senses in which giant technology reads materials and contexts, it leaves information on the colorful dimension of looking at habitat.
