Following 《OCTO-》 in 2025, PAGEROOM8 and Gallery Jiwooheon (知尤軒) will once again jointly present 《OCTO- Bukchon-Seochon》 for eleven days, from April 8 to 18, 2026.

“OCTO-,” which PAGEROOM8 continues to organize with Gallery Jiwooheon after relocating to Ogin-dong in Seochon, has now become “OCTO- Bukchon-Seochon,” connecting Bukchon and Seochon, two neighborhoods historically distinguished by their positions around Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Although the physical distance between the two venues has increased to a thirty-minute walk, the event has been moved to the coming spring to make the journey more pleasant, while seeking to expand into an exhibition community linking the Jongno area and the two spaces. On the opening day in particular, a walking program will be held with participating artists, traveling between the two neighborhoods on foot.

During the exhibition period, workshops led by artists working in specific genres, including printmaking (linocut and etching) and painting, will offer visitors opportunities to gain insight into and experience the processes of art-making.

Most significantly, the works of the participating artists themselves serve as a medium connecting the neighborhoods and exhibition spaces. All participating artists have either previously exhibited or are scheduled to exhibit at PAGEROOM8 or Gallery Jiwooheon.

Compared with last year, the number of participating artists has increased by twenty, bringing the total to fifty-eight artists—forty at PAGEROOM8 and eighteen at Gallery Jiwooheon:

Goni, Gaseul Kim, Kim Geonil, Kim Mary, Kim SunHyoung, Siha Kim, Joohyun Kim, Kim Joongok, Kim Jiyoon, Kim Hyeju, La Kim, Hyunjin La, Ryu Yejun, Ilsun Maeng, Moonjung, PARK Sangho, Bac JungWon, Park Jongjin, Park Juae, Park Hyunsung, Jiyoung Son, Song Sumin, Shunita, Shin SoEon, Shin, Junmin, So-Hee Ahn, Yang So Jeong, Hwa Seon Yang, Oh Jeisung, Yoo Eui Jeong, Miseon Yoon, Yoon Sukone, Ilkwon Yoon, Lee Neungho, Su Ji Lee, Lee Seung-Hyun, Yi Youjin, Jihyun Im, Goyona Jung, Jung Yoonzoo, Jae Youl Jeoung, Jeong Zik Seong, Jung, Haena, Cho Kyoungjae, Cho Minah, Jo Joong Won, Hyun Sun Jo, Jiyasol, Jee Hoon Stark, Charles Luskin, Kichang Choi, Namu Choi, Han Jimin, Sungju Ham, Heyo, Hur Dam, Huh Sangwook, and Hwang Yerang.

The fifty-eight participating artists will each present two works, including new or previously unshown pieces, for a total of 116 works, with one work by each artist installed at PAGEROOM8 and the other at Gallery Jiwooheon. The participating artists represent a diverse range of genres, including painting (26 artists), ceramic sculpture (7), drawing (6), sculpture/installation (5), printmaking (5), Korean painting (4), photography (3), and mixed media (2).

This diversity and distinctiveness can be traced to the curatorial exhibitions organized by the two spaces to date. PAGEROOM8 has consistently presented projects that merit attention in the present moment, spanning drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and installation, while Gallery Jiwooheon has served as a bridge between art and the public by introducing contemporary art across a range of genres within the distinctive architectural setting of a hanok and its geographical context in Bukchon.

As an artist community formed through exhibitions at PAGEROOM8 and Gallery Jiwooheon, 《OCTO- Bukchon-Seochon》 brings together artists active in Korea and abroad, sensorially connecting the route between the two venues through their works.

The exhibition title “OCTO-” is derived from the “8” in PAGEROOM8. “Octo,” the Latin root meaning “eight,” symbolizes PAGEROOM8’s vision of the exhibition space itself, the archive that sustains the lingering resonance of exhibitions, and the infinite continuity of pages and books. Since PAGEROOM8 and Gallery Jiwooheon jointly presented 《OCTO-》 in 2025, the concept of “OCTO-” has continued to expand.

At a time when galleries can no longer remain confined to the singular role of exhibition venues, there is a growing need to curate multiple models of engagement and pursue creative possibilities. 《OCTO-》 (2025) marked a modest starting point, and 《OCTO- Bukchon-Seochon》 continues that trajectory of continuity. The exhibition suggests how a community mediated by artists and artworks can extend into the surrounding neighborhoods, connect spaces, and foster mutual growth and coexistence.
