Just as the sun begins to rise when a new dawn arrives, Bulgari, the high jeweler of Rome, has enhanced creativity based on endless innovation and evolution for 140 years since its founding in 1884. Bulgari’s meaningful journey is also reflected in works that inspire wonder. Through masterpieces containing the light of the Eternal City, it connects past, present, and future as one and embodies timeless beauty.

Museum Hanmi began over 20 years ago as Korea’s first museum specializing in photography, dedicated to the development of Korean culture and arts and the popularization of photographic art. It has worked to become a center for the international promotion of Korean photography by broadly exploring and introducing works by photographers ranging from senior figures to contemporary artists.

In 2022, with the goals of expanding photographic art and becoming an accessible museum, Museum Hanmi Samcheong was newly opened. Beyond traditional photographic art, the museum seeks to pursue the expansion of photographic art that uses digital image technology beyond photography, including new media art that developed from photography.

Accordingly, this exhibition also introduces traditional photographic works, as well as works and media art that constantly explore the expansion of the photographic medium.

The three participating artists, Bae Chan-hyo, Lee Gap-chul, and Woongcheol Lee, each show “eternal rebirth” in their own way. Inspired by the Bulgari Heritage Collection and created through distinctive perspectives, these works have been planned so that they may be experienced synesthetically through the five senses, including photography, installation, and media.

The year 2024 is meaningful as it marks the 140th anniversary of both the founding of Bulgari and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and Italy. Through this collaborative exhibition, Bulgari and Museum Hanmi have willingly taken on the role of a new bridge for cultural exchange between Korea and Italy.

We invite you to 《Eternally Reborn》, a special encounter between major masterpieces from the Heritage Collection of Roman jeweler Bulgari and works created by Korean contemporary artists, and a journey toward the origin of beauty.
